In revealing the inner beauty of such an ordinary item as a pair of scissors, the scissor’s exceptionally well-designed mechanism allows for creation of free-standing constructions, looking like their parts were manufactured with only this goal in mind, forming polyhedrons.

Even though they have the look of magnified microorganisms with curvy inner guts protected by complex shields of spiky weaponry, Scissauruses are, in fact, truncated polyhedrons. These wonderful shapes – Archimedean solids – reveal themselves during the process of the scissors’ industrial capability (cutting) being shelled away. Scissauruses are ideal Deutilization pieces. They are self-locked, self-supporting and self-sufficient.

They comprise nothing but pairs of scissors of the same make and size; there are no connections among them of any kind – no screws, no glue. The scissors are weaved together using solely their geometry and mechanics. Scissauruses successfully achieve the main goal of a Deutilization process – creating extraordinary beauty from ordinary objects.
