MeconoMorph: Material Reuse and Sustainability
Business Cards as Material

MeconoMorph is an evolving sculptural installation initiated by Viktor Genel. Its modular forms are constructed from discarded and obsolete business cards—printed objects whose original commercial function has ended.
The project approaches business cards not simply as recyclable paper, but as culturally specific material: small records of professional identity, exchange, and changing systems of communication.
Collected cards are cut, folded, and assembled into geometric units that can be recombined as the installation changes from one setting to another. Reuse is therefore both material and structural.
Material and environmental context
- Material source: discarded and obsolete business cards.
- Process: cutting, folding, and modular assembly.
- Installation: variable configurations adapted to each site.
- Interpretation: reuse considered alongside identity, commerce, and communication.
MeconoMorph does not claim that a single artwork resolves the environmental cost of paper production. It records a narrower proposition: a discarded commercial object can enter a different material and cultural life.
The installation has appeared in civic and institutional settings and has developed through contributions accumulated over time.
